2021 Paraduxx Howell Mountain Napa Valley Red Wine
In Stock
Our Vineyard Series is a collection of limited-production wines that offer their own variations on the contemporary style of our Paraduxx red blends. While taking inspiration from the famed Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blends of Southern Australia, this wine is also shaped by its Howell Mountain origins, where high elevations, a unique climate and volcanic soils yield epic wines. The result is a wine with the bold structure and blackberry notes of mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and the rich dark fruit and white pepper character of Syrah.

Winemaker Notes
This alluring blend of mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah command your attention with aromas of blueberry, plum, violets, lavender and anise, as well as savory hints of cracked pepper, leather and black olive. On the Cabernet-driven palate, flavors of crushed rocks, cinnamon, anise and cocoa powder add complexity to the generous dark berry flavors, with firm tannins and bright acidity adding polish to a long, resonant finish.
Production
The 2021 growing season started with a very dry winter, with almost no rain in the month of February. Due to the lack of moisture, there were more frost events, which when combined with an extended period of bloom led to some shatter during cluster formation, resulting in smaller overall yields. Summer brought ideal temperate weather ensuring that the grapes were able to achieve excellent ripeness. While harvest was fairly compressed, with both white and red grapes coming into the winery at the same time, the quality of the fruit was exceptional, producing a stunning vintage of beautifully concentrated wines with deep, alluring colors.
