2021 Paraduxx Napa Valley Red Wine Rector Creek Vineyard - Block 4
In Stock
Our Vineyard Series is a collection of limited-production wines that offer their own inspired variations on the contemporary and innovative style of our Paraduxx red blends. Grown in the rocky soils of our Rector Creek Vineyard, which surrounds the Paraduxx winery, this sumptuous and sophisticated blend balances the wild berry and tobacco leaf elements of Petit Verdot from our prized Block 4, with the raspberry and spice notes of our Rector Creek Zinfandel.

Production Notes
Blend Composition: 50% Petit Verdot, 47% Zinfandel, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker Notes
This fascinating blend of Petit Verdot and Zinfandel from Rector Creekâs coveted Block 4 has produced a rich and complex wine, with aromas of violet, potpourri, brown sugar and bay leaf, as well as umami notions of Hoisin sauce. On the palate, flavors of red and black cherry, blackberry, fig and vanilla cola are framed by round, structured tannins and enlivening acidity, driving the flavors to a long finish.
Production
The 2021 growing season started with a very dry winter, with almost no rain in the month of February. Due to the lack of moisture, there were more frost events, which when combined with an extended period of bloom led to some shatter during cluster formation, resulting in smaller overall yields. Summer brought ideal temperate weather ensuring that the grapes were able to achieve excellent ripeness. While harvest was fairly compressed, with both white and red grapes coming into the winery at the same time, the quality of the fruit was exceptional, producing a stunning vintage of beautifully concentrated wines with deep, alluring colors.
